Buckhorn Family Fun Day

BUCKHORN HIGH SCHOOL
New Market, Alabama

We had a great Saturday at Buckhorn High School. The band (parents helped) put together their annual "Family Fun Day".
With carnival style games like Ring Toss, Bingo, Spin the Wheel, all with the promise to win fabulous PRIZES!
Tickets

Ring Toss

Spinning Wheel

Bingo

The attractions also included some new and unique games.
We had "Rock Band" competitions in the Band Room. Complete with laser lights and
"Disco Balls". Sorry, no pictures in the dark.

Also, the Wii "Super Smash Brothers" tournament was a hit with "kids" of all ages.

TP Toss

One different game was the "TP Roll" toss. What made the toss special is the target.
The infamous "Buckhorn Purple Potty"

Something of a legend, the Purple Potty, (proper names are capitalized, right?), has an email at purplepotty@me.com. Apparently, for a nominal fee of $10, you can request the Purple Potty be placed in your friends (former?) yard. Removal is an additional $20.

Dinner

We also had local vendors shopping their wares and raffle tickets, and even a BBQ dinner from Ole Hickory BBQ.
Silent Auction
Remember this moment?
The silent auction offered many great items too.

We won a gift card to Ruby Tuesdays in the raffle and enjoyed a great lunch after church today. Like their salad bar!

PRIZES

We had levels. The scale was 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and Grand Prizes.
I guess the "value" increased, but I think the kids placed value on the prizes by their fun factor.
I hope so anyway.

The Family Fun Day was just that, fun. The fund raising for the band was good, but less than last year. Hope we do better next time.

  1. Looks like fun.... although the "spinning wheel" family members look like they need a few more customers...
